BaurBall is a throw back to the days when getting good at a sport was all about learning the techniques needed to excel. To a time when athletes learned the 'how to do it well' before they actually tried to do it live.
In today's world of instant gratification, many athletes of all sports learn little about technique, and are solely focused on the games, stats, personal results and of course winning. But in doing so are losing the very thing that make us great, and that is actually learning the craft.
There is a difference between learning it and playing it. In today's world it seems everyone plays and yet so few actually understand it, thus many players are bounced from the sport at an early age.
What we do is in each session we focus on just one skill set and teach the technique behind it. Each move, shot, chip, pass, we teach the actual method, the movement and the reasoning for the process. The skill set is broken down into easy to do steps, filmed and analyzed.
Few team coaches have the time to address this aspect of the game during team practices, and unfortunately many do not have the knowledge of how to teach it. Instead, they just use the players for what they can do, not correcting what they can't.
Player can't kick with his/her left, well, play them on the right side and so on. Well, that is not the way to improve as a player, it is a way to settle into only what you can do now. Soon, many those players will leave the sport and not of their choosing.
Athletics are Darwinistic in nature, and those who are the strongest in all areas, will survive the longest.
We do what the teams don't do, we break it down and give the player the tools to succeed with these individual skill sets.
The more skill sets a player has, the more options that player can use in a game, and thus the better that player becomes.
Then once the player learns it, it is up them to master it. That is on them and not on any coach.
Remember, teams get better at team practice, individuals get better with individual practice.

Set your goals. It is important to set goals and work to achieve those goals.
Set a series of realistic short term goals that lead to your larger goal. It is easy to say "My goal is to be the best player in the world!" OK, great goal, but what do you need to do to achieve that goal? Where do you start? Do you think you can set a goal easier to attain that will lead to that goal?
Maybe better to say 'I want to have the hardest shot on my team." Ok, that is easy, so we help you set out a series of short term goals to achieve that.
#1: Learn the proper technique of how to do it properly.
#2 Master the that technique with both feet.
#3 Be able to hit flat shot from 10 yards, 20 yards, 30 yards.
#4 Take what I have learned and now put the thousands of reps that is needed to achieve your goal of having the hardest shot on the team.
This is hundreds of hours of individual work, but now with the proper technique.
It is a process, and one that takes time. It begins with learning how to do it first, then taking that knowledge and mastering it.
We teach you the technique.
You put in the hours.
You master the skill set.
